Eesha the ‘elephant’ sends Webjet a strong message

News

With your support, we recently shined a light on the suffering of captive wild animals to Webjet staff outside their headquarters.

With your support, Eesha the elephant puppet played stood outside the Webjet headquarters in Melbourne, demanding an end to cruel wildlife offerings on their platform.

As Webjet employees arrived at work, we educated them by handing out ‘circus tickets’ that revealed the truth about the company’s connection to wildlife cruelty.

Eesha the elephant caught the eye of many people passing by who stopped to take photos and expressed regret for having ridden elephants in the past.

The action not only captured the attention of the public but also garnered media coverage in outlets including  Stuff and Scoop – amplifying the urgent need to end wildlife cruelty in tourism.

Thanks to your support for our ‘Web of Cruelty’ report, more than 3,000 animal lovers were moved to send letters to Webjet staff.

All of these efforts resulted in us securing a meeting with the travel company to discuss removing cruel wildlife experiences from their website.

Thank you for your wonderful support. Together, we can create a world where wild animals are no longer exploited for entertainment.

Will you tell Webjet to stop profiting from animal exploitation?

Our latest report found Webjet guilty of selling some of the cruellest captive wildlife experiences, contributing to animal suffering. Learn more.
